This week has been very
interesting. During the weekend, we had to read the prefaces to the book so we
could answer the quiz on the next class. On Monday, I felt nervous because I
thought that I had not really focused on the text I was reading. Once we were
inside the classroom, the teacher explained that he was going to show us the
two questions for the quiz and that we were going to have about 30 minutes to
finish the quiz. After this activity, we continued working on our essays and the
teacher was helping by reading some of them.
On Wednesday I was supposed to give
my speech but when I came into the classroom, the teacher told us that only
some of the students were going to present that class. I was surprised and a
little excited when he said the names of the persons that were going to present
during that class and I did not heard my name. I also took this opportunity to
make observations in order to evade them at the moment of giving my speech. I
enjoyed to hear the speeches of my classmates because I think that the themes
were very interesting.
On Thursday, I felt really nervous
and I regretted that I had not given my presentation the last class. Even
though I had more time to prepare what I was going to said, I had more pressure
because I did not remembered as well as the class we had on Wednesday. I felt
insecure and when it was my turn, I stood up in front of the class. Then I
started talking but suddenly I forgot what I was going to say and I repeated
the same things several times. I did not liked my presentation because I think
that it lacked quality and that my English was not fluent.
For the next speech, I will
practice more by repeating the information I have to say and by using a
chronometer. I will also find more information of the subject that I will talk
about in order to give more facts. I will try to improve my fluency by talking more English out of the class.
